Brightening Bug

I saw the first lightning bug of the summer today as I was walking back to my car from the 7-11 at the bottom of the hill on my street.  I had my black reusable grocery bag on my right arm, and he lit up in front of me in the middle of the sidewalk, a few feet off the ground.  I stopped and decided to catch him.  He went onto my hand fairly easily, but stayed on the back of my left hand for a little bit, only later going to my palm so that I could cup him well.  After a little crawling around, he lit up once, and then flew off to the small grassy hill just beside us and lit again.

Peace out.
